ROM cards are a great communications format for small businesses, corporations and production companies. Why? Because ROM cards allow you to deliver compelling multimedia presentations in a small, portable format without the worry of long download times.
A ROM card (also know as electronic business cards and CD business cards) is essentially a CD-ROM which has been cut into the shape of a business card. Small ridges in the ROM card ensures that it plays in most CD-ROM drives.

ROM cards can be made into custom shapes if volumes are sufficient (1000+) and costs can often be surprisingly low. 1,000 custom-shaped ROM cards would cost around £2,000 to manufacture (with unit costs decreasing significantly for higher volumes).
If you are looking to test the market with a low volume run, then recordable ROM cards makes it possible to do runs as low as 50, prior to commiting to larger production runs.

E-creation has been developing CD-ROMs for clients such as BP, WHSmith and 3Com for over 5 years now. When ROM cards were introduced to the market several years ago, interest in multimedia delivered over CD-ROM technology increase massively. This is partly attributable to a sense of disenchantment with the Internet as a delivery mechanism. Businesses wanted to deliver exciting visual content without worrying about how long people would be waiting to see the content.

E-creation's ROM card was developed using a variety of technologies including Premier, Photoshop and Flash.
As packaging plays such an important role in forming opinion, E-creation had custom 'static' bags manufactured, to provide the best possible communications package.
The multimedia presentation was created over two months at a cost of £15,000 (plus £5,000 for the packaging and ROM card manufacturing).
